Chapter 21 - The lien collapses to its real size

Three weeks later, Judge Keene issued the lien ruling.
Cross Atelier’s recorded $912,400 claim was reduced dramatically.
The court found:
Several unrelated charges improperly included.
Some duplicate amounts.
Lake Briar planning nonlienable.
Certain management fees outside statutory lien scope.
After verified work and credits:
Valid lien amount:
$58,700.
Meridian paid it into court immediately.
Lien released.
Greyhaven could no longer be threatened with foreclosure over Cross’s claim.
Then innocent subcontractors:
Already paid or settled.
No one lost wages.
Then sanctions for overstated lien?
The judge found Cross’s inclusion of clearly unrelated Lake Briar charges unreasonable and ordered Cross to bear part of Meridian’s lien-litigation fees:
$74,000.
Not punitive millions.
Then Wilhelmina’s personal contract case against me remained.
Appendix H.
Design fees.
Cohabitation reliance.
That was the next fight.
Greyhaven itself, however, was safe.

Not because I was a Mafia boss.
Because title records and trust law said Wilhelmina never owned it.
