Chapter 11 - Northstar takes Felix’s account seriously

Northstar did not control Felix’s custodial account.

But the court appointed a temporary independent custodian after Adrian’s confession and Genevieve’s accounting problems became clear.

Genevieve opposed.

Her argument:

Every disputed expenditure had at least some connection to Felix’s future family interests.

The judge disagreed that she should remain sole custodian while investigating herself.

Temporary replacement:

Harbor Trust Services.

Narrow.

Felix’s investments stayed where they were.

No liquidation.

No panic sale.

No transfer to me.

Then formal accounting.

Genevieve produced:

Invoices.

Emails.

Retainer agreements.

PR plans.

Legal memoranda.

Some described Felix as:

“minor beneficiary whose future leadership rights are threatened.”

But no actual existing leadership right was identified.

Then one Blackwell Governance invoice:

Preparation for settlement negotiations securing Locke branch veto rights.

That was not Felix’s right.

That was Genevieve’s.

Another:

Media strategy around Benedict Ravelle’s fitness to retain family control.

Again.

Genevieve.

Then legitimate expenses were separated.

School.

Medical.

Security.

Those remained untouched.

No rewriting every past payment as theft.

Harbor Trust calculated provisional surcharge request:

$151,400

including clearly self-interested expenditures plus certain fees.

Genevieve disputed.

Fine.

Civil accounting.

Not instant restitution.

Then Felix.

He asked:

“Did Mom steal my money?”

I answered:

“There is a court deciding which expenses were appropriate.”

“That sounds like yes.”

“It sounds like I’m not turning an accounting dispute into something bigger before the judge does.”

Felix frowned.

“You talk like your lawyer.”

“Terrible habit.”

Then:

“Do I still have money?”

“Yes.”

“Am I poor?”

“No.”

“Can I buy a horse?”

May you like

“No.”

Some truths remained stable.
