Chapter 16 - Belladonna tries to become the victim

Belladonna filed a civil claim against me for the food-dumping incident and her fall.

Medical bills:

$3,800.

Physical therapy:

Several sessions.

No permanent injury.

She demanded:

$300,000.

My attorney offered:

Actual medical costs plus modest general damages, subject to my diversion resolution.

Her lawyer also alleged:

Armed intimidation.

Two guards appeared behind her while I removed my coat.

Did they threaten?

No.

Did they block her exit?

Initially they stood near hallway.

Police bodycam and house footage showed Belladonna could leave through opposite garden door but was asked to remain until officers arrived.

Could that be false imprisonment?

She was not physically restrained.

Still litigable.

We did not laugh.

My security people’s presence carries weight.

Mediation later settled my portion:

$14,000.

No admission of intentional injury beyond food contact.

Belladonna released that civil claim.

Again:

No special immunity because I was protecting my daughter.

Then her public statement through lawyer:

“Ms. Price acted from genuine fear that a notorious criminal figure had failed to protect his daughter.”

That was strategically smart.

It turned the case into:

Concerned caregiver versus dangerous father.

Then prosecutors introduced her own messages:

Valerian won’t relocate Eira until he’s scared enough.

Hard to reconcile with pure concern.

Still, public narratives have lower evidentiary standards than court.

I did not respond publicly.

No press war.

Eira did not need her name becoming content.
