Valerie lost several clients after public court records became known.
Not because I campaigned.
She downsized.
Returned to work after custody sentence.
She repaid one disputed Ellison Built Interiors overcharge through company settlement:
$12,500.
Why?
Independent review found duplicate/unsupported invoices.
Other services remained paid.
No criminal fraud charge.
No giant business conspiracy.
Then Ellison Built Interiors.
Lucas instituted:
Independent approval for related-party consultants.
Quarterly CPA review.
Eric gained co-sign authority above $25,000.
Why?
Bank lender required stronger controls after litigation.
Good.
Institutions changed.
Not because Lucas became morally enlightened overnight.
Because lenders dislike hidden mistresses on vendor lists.
Then company stabilized.
No collapse.
No mass layoffs.
The employees whose livelihoods Lucas had invoked remained employed.
Again:
The catastrophe he claimed justified manipulation never occurred.
Accountability cost him:
Money.
Control.
May you like
Reputation.
But not everyone else’s paycheck.
